Coriolis

Coriolis is a design concept for a skyscraper that incorporates a highly differentiated distribution of open and enclosed spaces through the study of form, materiality, and structure. The concept investigates the challenge of articulating open-air spaces throughout the tall building typology using alternating recesses in the overall form of the tower. The insulation of opaque and transparent facade surfaces follow a shifting formal language to provide opportunities for thinking about occupiable open-air spaces. The concept also investigates utility and form by using a unique combination of parametric modeling and evaluation methods.
