Public Space

ADX Pavilion

ADX Pavilion was designed as a public space structure meant to enrich and bring to life public park space within an urban setting. The structure of the pavilion performs as a large canopy that provides shelter and allows for large public events to take place in an open-air setting. The structure filters the natural environment with a dynamic structure that cantilevers outward, extending its reach toward the pedestrian pathways. The design was generated through a combination of structural optimization and simulation methods to achieve the desired configuration. The final design of the apertures, overall dimensions, and geometric articulations were the outcome of a tailored design process intended to enhance the experience and utility of open public park space.
